
Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA)
The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) have began the training of over 60 staff on ISO 9001:2015, to ensure that products and services of the Agency consistently meet electricity customers requirements.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a global body established in 1947 with the responsibility of developing quality standards for products and services worldwide. They have the ideology for “doing things the best way”. Nigeria is a full member of the body along other one hundred and sixty-four member countries.
In its bid to deliver its mandate of ensuring safety of use of electricity and safety of lives and property by the use of evolving strategies that will ensure a robust power industry in Nigeria, NEMSA embarked on this specialized training to ensure all processes and procedures engaged in carrying out its various activities are in line with best international standards. Also to ensure that there is improved satisfaction with the various stakeholders/customers engaged. Again, that all personnel of the Agency be more efficient and effective in their various deliverable while addressing all relevant organizational risk and opportunities in a structured manner and finally to seek to become better in enforcement of technical standards in the power sector.
So far, the training began with a Management review and then the implementation training of sixty staff on ISO 9001:2015 out of which forty-seven were trained on internal Auditors Course. These are all preparatory classes meant to empower the candidates before the documentation and implementation processes are done. This will culminate in the certification of NEMSA under ISO.
