Head of Operations and lines at AEDC, Elisha Yakubu, disclosed this during a town hall meeting in Lugbe – Abuja.

National Vice President of the union (East), Joe Oforka, NUEE said, it is an undeniable truth that the power sector privatization has not added value to the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Similarly, Vice President Lagos/Ogun, Comrade Akeem Ladoja, said the union is worried by the comatose situation in the electricity industry based on none additional equipment since the investors took over to upgrade and extend their capacities/networks

Leadership Newspaper page 24 reports that, Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) member countries has said it will support Nigeria’s energy transition plan in a move to aid the country, improve its power sector performance.
Secretary-General of D-8, Amb Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, gave the hint when he received members of the Board of Directors of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc. (NBET), on visit to Republic of Turkey recently to sign a partnership deal with energy exchange Instanbul (EXIST), a Turkish energy firm.

Leadership Newspaper page 24 reports that, about 80 per cent of workforce in Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) and Electricity Generation Companies (GenCos) are casual workers and as such, they are being treated like slaves.
Vice President Lagos/Ogun, National Union of Electricity Employees of Nigeria (NUEE), Comrade Akeem Ladoja, disclosed this at a press conference organised by the chapter, in Lagos.
