Daily Trust Newspaper page 20 reports that, Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) has kicked off a nationwide inspection of existing networks of Distribution Companies (DisCos).

The Managing Director/CEO of NEMSA, Engr. Aliyu Tukur Tahir, who led his team to the headquarters of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), said the exercise is to identify the challenges at the interface points between transmission and electricity distribution networks that are hindering smooth power supply delivery in the country.

National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) made this known in its document entitled: “Electricity Report Q1-Q2 2022.” “Revenue generation by the DISCOs stood at N204.74 billion in Q1, 2022 and N188.41 billion in Q2 2022.

Daily Sun Newspaper page 27 reports that, the new Managing Director/Chief Executive, Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Henry Ajagbawa, has, said he would call for a forensic audit into the company’s past management account with a view to clean up the rot in the system.

Ajagbawa, who briefed newsmen in Benin on his proposed plans to turn the company around, said his administration, which will last for six months but subject to extension by the Federal Government, would be open to all with the view to delivering efficient service to BEDC’s franchise states – Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and Delta.
